Tire Carrier Table Install

Tire Carrier Table Install
Tools Needed:
3/16" drill bit
Drill
Center Punch/Marker
Rivet tool for 3/16" rivets
(preferably electric or pneumatic)
Step 1:
lay hinges over the inside of the tire
carrier in about the middle of each gap beside the center tube

Step 2: drill the holes to affix the short
Side of the hinge to the top of the 2x3”
(green) and rivet

Step 3: place spacers of some kind
On top of the 2x3” tube to space
Up the table; these should be ⅜”
If possible

Step 4: carefully clamp the table in
Place (rags and spring clamps are
best)

Step 5: hold the long arm of the hinge up against
the table and drill one hole at a time inserting rivets
(loosely) FROM THE OTHER SIDE to keep the hinges
from moving around

Step 6: complete all rivets to affix the table to the
hinges, these will be riveted from the TIRE SIDE so that
the work/usable surface is smoother.

Step 7: use a stool and wood or whatever you can
and rest the table so that it is just barely above flat (trust
me) you will now be affixing the stainless cables

Step 8: The outer cable first is
usually easier, should be mounted
about mid way through the bend as
pictured in pic 7, you will need to
center punch this hole or the drill bit
will walk.

Step 9: Rivet the top, then hold the
cable tight down to the table and
mark where the hole needs to be,
drill and Twist this end inwards
towards the center of table (then
when you close the table the cable
will curl inwards

Step 10:
Repeat on the inside of the carrier

Step 11:if the catch needs to be
installed it should be ¼” above
the closed table. (rivets and self
tappers have been included
however welding is of course the
best) then disassemble latch

Step 12: the latch has been drilled
out for you, so align it as shown
also ¼” below the edge of the
table and drill one hole (rivets
should be installed from the other
(tire) side again to keep the
unable surface smoother) drill
holes one at a time

Step 13:
Reassemble latch and adjust until
table is snug/taught against tire
carrier and does not rattle

Step 14: Enjoy a job well done by
acquiring a gas station hot dog
and a beverage of your choice
and placing them on the table.
